COMMUNITY SUPPORT
We have all heard the expression "It takes a village to raise a child." Well, it takes a community to make a museum successful.
I am writing in behalf of the French Cable Station Museum in Orleans to thank the people and businesses of Orleans and surrounding communities for their support of the museum.
Our museum is small but significant in Cape Cod history. We depend upon volunteers from the area to be our guides and administrators. We maintain and operate the museum with memberships and donations from local people and people from all over the world.
Over the years we have had many activities and all of them have received support from the community. The support has been in the form of equipment, supplies, refreshments, publicity, raffle gifts, and many other items.
Our maintenance and operation costs are reduced because of repairs and materials donated to the museum by local businesses. We are restoring rare historical documents and equipment with funds from a grant from the town of Orleans. The list goes on.
My message is: We appreciate this support.
We recognize and thank them on our website on our support page in no particular order. We thank them and everyone who supports the museum. We only hope we did not omit someone.
